IN THE BEGINNING

FINANCE AND FUNDING

Initially raised from subscriptions. In the first year, it was proposed that the subscription be 10/- (50p). However, it was agreed that this be 5/- (25p) and that members could send more if they pleased.

The first Balance sheet was produced in 1927.

Proposal to offer Honorary Life Membership to men to a fee of £3. 3s. 0d.(three guineas - £3.15p).

Without all this administration by unpaid volunteers - their only recompense being their love of our game - the organisation of such magnanimous tasks would have been impossible. Thus women's cricket was born.

The full story of "The Association" years unfolds via the Year Books, Magazines, etc., accessed via the categories listed on the left-hand side of this page.
